Goa, July 30 -- Margao Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) after a woman from Aquem Alto, Margao, allegedly lost Rs.1.21 lakh in an online banking fraud.

According to police, unknown persons carried out unauthorised internet banking and UPI transactions from the woman's bank account without her knowledge or consent, resulting in a loss of Rs.1.21 lakh.

Following the complaint, Margao Police registered an FIR against unidentified accused and have launched an investigation to trace those involved in the cyber fraud.

Police are probing the circumstances under which the fraudulent transactions were carried out and are examining digital evidence as part of the investigation.
