Goa, April 8 -- Margao Police have initiated a drive targeting unidentified migrant labourers in Margao, focusing on the verification of mandatory documents.

As part of the exercise, police are checking the identity and documentation of every labourer, with officials stating that the drive will be conducted on a weekly basis. Authorities are also verifying whether employers and property owners have submitted tenant verification forms, warning that action will be taken against those who fail to comply.

During today's operation, 25 labourers found in areas behind the Margao Municipal Council and nearby locations were brought in for verification. Of these, 11 have been detained, and their documents are currently under scrutiny.
