Goa, July 22 -- With only six months left in the current council's term, the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) is facing criticism from citizens' groups and youth leaders over the sudden flurry of developmental projects being pushed through without adequate public consultation.
Activist group Madganvcho Awaaz, along with youth leader Prabhav Naik, has raised concerns about the timing and intent behind initiatives such as hydraulic parking, renovation of buildings, beautification of the old bus stand, pay parking, and fee hikes.
"Why the rush now? These long-term projects must be taken up only after proper consultation with Madganvkars. Are these decisions even aligned with the so-called Master Plan 2041 or the Smart City goals?" questioned...
