Goa, Nov. 11 -- Following a final notice from the Urban Health Centre, the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) undertook a massive cleanliness drive at the town's market complex to address multiple hygiene and maintenance issues.

Chief Officer Chandrakant B. Shetkar confirmed that all concerns raised by the Health Department have been fully rectified, including problems related to waste disposal, lighting, and sanitation. The entire market has been cleaned, painted, and disinfected, while new "No Smoking" and "No Spitting" signboards have been installed to promote cleanliness and public discipline.

MMC has also sought assistance from GSUDA to remove unused lift machinery from the premises, which had been lying idle for years.
