Mapusa Man Loses Rs.2.75 Lakh in Cyber Fraud; Police Register FIR
Goa, July 3 -- The Mapusa Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) after a 52-year-old resident of Mapusa allegedly lost Rs.2.75 lakh in a cyber fraud.
According to the complaint, the victim was threatened and intimidated by unidentified fraudsters, who allegedly coerced him into authorising online financial transactions. The accused reportedly used fear and deception to gain the victim's trust before convincing him to complete the transactions.
As a result, an amount of Rs.2.75 lakh was allegedly withdrawn from the victim's bank account without his informed consent.
