Goa, June 12 -- The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Mapusa has granted bail to an accused in a cannabis possession case, observing that the alleged seizure involved only a small quantity of the prohibited substance.

While allowing the bail application, the court directed that the accused be released upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs.20,000 along with one local surety of the same amount.

The court took note of the quantity of cannabis allegedly recovered during the case proceedings while deciding the bail plea and concluded that the circumstances warranted the grant of bail.
