The blaze, Oct. 6 -- A major fire broke out at a residence near the church in Ribandar on Sunday afternoon, destroying a garage and part of the kitchen on the ground floor.

46 pm, caused extensive damage before being brought under control by the fire services. According to Rohidas Parab, Officer-in-Charge of the Old Goa Fire Station, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

"We received a call about a fire in a house near the church. The flames had engulfed the kitchen and garage area," Parab said.

The fire gutted several household items, including a refrigerator, washing machine, floor and ceiling fans. In the garage, two cars, two Activa scooters, and two bicycles were completely destroyed.
