Goa, June 12 -- Residents of Maina village in Curtorim have intensified their opposition to a proposed multi-dwelling housing project, reaffirming their determination to continue the campaign even after a scheduled hearing on the matter was adjourned.

A large gathering of villagers assembled at the Matany Saldanha Administrative Complex in Margao for the hearing of an appeal filed by the Curtorim Village Panchayat against the Salcete Block Development Officer's decision granting permission for the housing project. However, the proceedings were postponed before the hearing could take place.
