Goa, Sept. 24 -- In a compassionate ruling, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted permission to a 14-year-old rape survivor to terminate her pregnancy, following medical advice highlighting serious health risks.
The minor, who was 28 weeks pregnant, initially faced resistance from her parents. However, they agreed to the procedure after receiving court-directed counselling.
The case reached the High Court after the Satna District Court forwarded it, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. The High Court carefully reviewed the medical report, which indicated that continuing the pregnancy could jeopardize the girl's health.
