India, Feb. 7 -- A one-year-old boy from Malsar village in Gujarat's Vadodara district was found to have a small LED bulb lodged in his windpipe after suffering for over six weeks. The child had been experiencing high fever and persistent coughing, which was initially misdiagnosed as pneumonia at several private hospitals. When treatments failed, the family took him to a government hospital in Gotri. ENT specialists conducted an examination and suspected a foreign object after an X-ray. Doctors performed a bronchoscopy and successfully removed a one-centimetre LED bulb stuck deep inside the windpipe. Dr Hiren Soni said skin had grown over the object due to the delay. The child has now recovered fully.
