Goa, Nov. 11 -- After repeated complaints from locals about a gaping pothole on a busy Kurti Khandepar road in Ponda, the Panchayat members conducted an inspection and decided to fill it completely with asphalt. Earlier, frustrated residents, who received no adequate response, had taken matters into their own hands by planting trees in the pothole to warn drivers and riders. The decision to repair the waist-deep pothole came shortly after a Gramsabha meeting at the Panchayat, recognising the threat it posed to commuters' safety. Officials have assured that the repair work will begin immediately, aiming to prevent further accidents and ensure safer passage for the daily flow of vehicles through this heavily used stretch.
