Goa, July 11 -- An 18-month-old boy died in Kerala after developing severe complications allegedly linked to the administration of anaesthesia before a minor procedure to treat a lip injury. The child passed away at a private hospital in Kannur district on Friday, five days after his condition reportedly began deteriorating.

According to reports, the toddler sustained a cut on his lip while playing at his home on July 5. He was taken to Baby Memorial Hospital in Payyannur, where doctors decided to stitch the wound under anaesthesia.
