Goa, May 4 -- The Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has taken a strong early lead in the Kerala Assembly election results as counting of votes gathered momentum across the State. Initial trends indicate a clear advantage for the Opposition alliance, signalling a potential shift in the political landscape.

According to early figures, the UDF is leading in around 100 of the 140 Assembly constituencies, putting it comfortably ahead of the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF), which is ahead in approximately 40 seats. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, is trailing significantly and has managed to secure a lead in just one constituency so far.
