Goa, June 22 -- Keir Starmer on Monday announced his resignation as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Labour Party, bringing an end to a turbulent period marked by growing political pressure and internal party unrest.

Speaking outside 10 Downing Street, Starmer revealed that he had informed King Charles III of his decision earlier in the day. He confirmed that he would remain prime minister until the Labour Party elects a new leader.
