India, Sept. 27 -- The Kavlem Panchayat has issued a stern ultimatum to owners of illegal scrapyards in Dhavali, directing them to clear their premises immediately. Authorities have warned that a strict crackdown will follow if compliance is not met.
The move comes as a preventive measure to avoid incidents similar to the 2023 highway fire, which caused significant damage and disruption. Panchayat officials emphasized that non-compliance will not be tolerated and that intensified action will be taken to ensure public safety.
The Kavlem Panchayat has urged scrapyard owners to cooperate and remove all hazardous materials to prevent accidents and maintain law and order in the area.
