Goa, July 13 -- Marking 100 days of continuous agitation against the proposed Karapur mega project, protesters staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday, reiterating their opposition to the project and urging the Central Government to intervene.

Environmentalists Dr. Swapnil Shirlekar and Ajay Prabhu Gavkar, along with villagers from the Karapur-Sarvan region, participated in the protest in support of the ongoing movement.

The protesters alleged that the proposed mega project would have serious adverse consequences for the environment, infringe upon the rights of local residents and adversely affect the future of the village. They reiterated their demand for the project to be scrapped.
