Goa, May 15 -- India's media landscape has witnessed a fresh legal flashpoint as JioStar has initiated legal proceedings against rival Zee Entertainment Enterprises over alleged unauthorised broadcast of Bollywood films.

JioStar, the television and digital entertainment venture formed after the Reliance-Walt Disney India media merger, has accused Zee of airing films without valid licensing rights. According to legal documents reviewed by Reuters, the company claims that Zee telecast multiple Bollywood titles that were under JioStar's exclusive rights at the time.
