Goa, May 16 -- Rain interrupted play just as Jannik Sinner appeared to have gained the upper hand against Daniil Medvedev in a gripping contest that proved to be the Italian's toughest challenge of the tournament so far.

Sinner looked dominant in the opening stages of the match, racing through the first four games and clinching the opening set in only 33 minutes. His aggressive start suggested another one-sided victory could be on the cards.
