Goa, Aug. 21 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has rejected US President Donald Trump's newly announced economic pressure campaign against Tehran, describing it as a continuation of failed policies that would lead to further defeat for Washington.

Araghchi, in a post on X on Thursday, said Trump's so-called "Economic D-Day" was an attempt to divert attention from the United States' own economic challenges, including high debt and rising interest costs. He also accused Washington of pursuing "economic terrorism" that threatens the global economy and the sovereignty of countries worldwide.
