Goa, Nov. 4 -- Iran has exempted vessels from India, China, Iraq and Qatar from transit restrictions in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, allowing ships from these countries to navigate the waterway without limitations.

Iranian lawmaker Ahmad Hayat-Moghaddam announced the decision, stating that vessels from the four countries would be permitted to pass through the strait without restrictions. He further claimed that the United States does not interfere with their passage.
