Goa, May 20 -- Subhash Phal Dessai on Tuesday said that a strict inquiry would be initiated against the administration of National Institute of Technology Goa over allegations that qualified Goan candidates are not being selected for jobs at the institute.

Speaking on the issue, the Sanguem MLA and Archaeology Minister said the Goa government had provided land, water, electricity, and road infrastructure to the institute, but claimed that adequate employment opportunities were not being given to local candidates.

Phal Dessai alleged that a well-qualified engineering candidate from Goa, despite clearing all required examinations, was reportedly declared ineligible during the interview stage by the institute.
