Goa, Aug. 8 -- India will look to keep their hopes of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) Final alive when they face Sri Lanka in a crucial two-match Test series beginning August 15 in Galle.

The Shubman Gill-led Indian side currently sits fifth in the WTC standings with four wins and four defeats from nine matches, giving them a points percentage (PCT) of 48.15. With the race for the WTC Final intensifying, the series against Sri Lanka could prove crucial to India's campaign.

Sri Lanka are currently sixth in the standings with a PCT of 41.67, making the two-Test contest important for both teams.
