Goa, Sept. 13 -- India will face Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series in Delhi, with the series coming ahead of the Asian Games 2026. Shreyas Iyer will lead the Indian side as the team looks to use the contests as preparation for the upcoming continental event.

The series also presents an interesting selection decision for India. The team will have to choose between teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and experienced wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson. Sooryavanshi was given preference over Samson during the England series, although the 15-year-old made way for Samson when the senior batter returned to the playing XI for the final game.
