Goa, Oct. 7 -- India hit back at Pakistan's latest attempt to internationalise the Kashmir issue during a UN Security Council debate on Women, Peace and Security. Responding to Pakistan's allegations of sexual violence in Kashmir, India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, cited the 1971 atrocities in then-East Pakistan, calling them a "systematic campaign of genocidal mass rape of 400,000 women" sanctioned by the Pakistani state.
