Goa, June 8 -- A commanding victory over Afghanistan in New Chandigarh helped India achieve a world record that no other team has managed before.

India defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs in the one-off Test to extend their unbeaten streak against the Asian rivals to 15 matches across all formats. In doing so, they became the first team in cricket history to play 15 games against a single opponent without losing once.

The hosts dominated the contest from start to finish. A first-innings total of 564/8 declared laid the foundation before India's bowlers took over.
