Goa, Dec. 26 -- Earlier this month, IndiGo's dominant position in India's aviation market drew scrutiny after approximately 4,500 flights were cancelled due to staffing issues, stranding tens of thousands of travellers across the country. The disruption sparked renewed debate on the need for greater competition, with analysts urging the government to incentivise new entrants. IndiGo holds around 65 per cent of the market, while the Air India Group accounts for about 27 per cent, leaving the rest to smaller carriers.
