IMD Says Goa May See Heavy Rain Soon
Goa, June 19 -- After weeks of scorching heat and below-normal rainfall, there may finally be relief in sight for Goa as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an increase in rainfall activity from June 22 onwards.
According to the latest weather outlook, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan and Goa from June 22, with monsoon conditions expected to strengthen across the region over the following days. The forecast has raised hopes among residents and farmers who have been anxiously awaiting widespread showers.
Goa has so far witnessed a significant rainfall deficit this monsoon season, with the state receiving only a fraction of its normal June rainfall, leading to concerns over water resources and agriculture....
