Goa, Oct. 3 -- The Indian Air Force on Friday reaffirmed that it destroyed five Pakistani fighter jets during Operation Sindoor in May. Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh made the statement days after Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented misleading claims about India's military operation at the UN.

Speaking during the 93rd Air Force Day celebrations, Singh said India targeted multiple Pakistani airfields and installations, damaging radars, command centres, hangars, and runways. "We have evidence of one C-130 aircraft and at least 4-5 fighter jets, most likely F-16s and JF-17s," he added.
