Goa, June 15 -- Hundreds of devotees gathered at Shri Navdurga Devasthan in Borim to participate in the Bhagyalaxmi Deep Poojan held on the occasion of Amavasya, which was observed as Saubhagya Lakshmi Divas.

The temple premises were illuminated with hundreds of oil lamps lit by devotees, who offered prayers to Goddess Shri Navdurga and later partook in the Mahaprasad organised by the temple.

Temple Committee President Sham Prabhu Desai said that historical temple records mention a traditional Deep Poojan being conducted near the temple lake. However, with the lake currently undergoing construction, the ritual was revived within the temple premises last year and has since become a regular observance on every Amavasya.
