Goa, Aug. 28 -- Heavy rains over the past two days caused a protective wall to collapse on the house of Janaki Padolkar at Narve Marmwado in the early hours of Wednesday. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Around 3 a.m., Janaki Padolkar, an elderly resident, was asleep when she heard the sound of the wall collapsing. Frightened, she woke up to find the structure had fallen onto her house and immediately alerted her neighbors.

The wall, constructed by the Public Works Department five years ago, was intended to protect the property.
