Goa, June 10 -- More than a month after thousands of dead fish surfaced in Panjim's Mala Lake, laying bare the deteriorating state of one of the city's key water bodies, the High Court of Bombay at Goa on Tuesday ordered fresh water quality testing and sought updates on action taken against households found discharg ing sewage into the lake. Hearing a suo motu public inter est litigation initiated in the wake of the large-scale fish deaths reported in April, the Court directed the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSP CB) to conduct fresh water testing of the lake and submit its findings at the next hearing.
