India, Feb. 25 -- In a petition filed by the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) concerning the installation of a statue of Shivaji Maharaj on its property, the High Court has directed the South Goa Superintendent of Police and the Mormugao Circle Officer to submit their replies on affidavit.
The court has asked both officials to explain the action taken on the complaint lodged by the MPA regarding the alleged illegal installation of the statue on port land. The authority had approached the court seeking intervention over the matter, citing unauthorised occupation of its property.
