Goa, Oct. 3 -- The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has launched the National Pension System (NPS) for Goa's driver community in collaboration with GoaMiles and HDFC Pension Fund. This unique initiative aims to provide pension coverage to nearly 5,000 drivers on the GoaMiles platform, marking the first scheme of its kind in India.

The program provides structured retirement planning, with GoaMiles contributing to each driver's NPS account. At the launch event, 50 drivers received their permanent retirement account numbers (PRANs), officially marking the rollout of the scheme.
