India, March 21 -- The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal has awarded compensation of 2.5 lakh to Ganesh Velip (39), a resident of Quepem, for injuries sustained in a road accident in 2018.

According to case details, Velip was riding a motorcycle when a car, attempting to overtake a scooter, collided head-on with his vehicle. The force of the impact threw both Velip and his pillion rider off the bike, resulting in serious injuries. Velip suffered a fracture to his right leg and later underwent surgery, during which a rod and screws were implanted.
