Goa, Sept. 17 -- The Transport Department of Goa has directed that all tourist taxis must mandatorily install digital fare meters equipped with GPS and a printer.

According to the order, the device should also carry an intact seal of the Legal Metrology Department to ensure accuracy and prevent tampering. The move aims to bring greater transparency, accountability, and convenience for both operators and passengers.

Authorities said strict compliance will be enforced, and action will be taken against tourist taxis found operating without the approved digital meters.
