Goa, June 19 -- Amid growing concerns over water scarcity, Goa is set to undergo a comprehensive assessment by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to evaluate its implementation of key water sector reforms under the State Water Reform Framework (SWRF).

The evaluation will review the state's performance in water governance and sustainable resource management across five major focus areas: policy and regulation, project monitoring, digitalisation and research, infrastructure development, and public participation.

As part of the assessment, Goa will be evaluated on a 100-point scale based on 75 indicators spread across 27 sub-dimensions, providing a detailed analysis of the state's progress in strengthening its water management systems.
