Goa, June 10 -- The Goa Government will begin the phased implementation of AI-based traffic cameras at 26 identified locations across the state as part of its efforts to strengthen road safety and improve traffic management.

Announcing the decision after chairing the State Road Safety Council meeting, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said that the advanced surveillance system will be introduced in stages before full enforcement begins on July 1.

The minister stated that the government will launch a series of public awareness campaigns ahead of the enforcement date to educate motorists about the new AI-powered monitoring system, traffic regulations and the importance of safe driving practices.
