Goa, Aug. 5 -- Goa is witnessing a steady 6% annual increase in power load, with the state successfully meeting rising demand through continuous infrastructure upgrades, a senior minister has confirmed.
Speaking on the power scenario, the minister revealed that during the 2025-26 period, Goa's peak hour electricity demand reached 815 MW. Despite this surge, the state managed to meet the demand effectively, thanks to robust planning and investment in power infrastructure.
A key highlight of the government's efforts is the extensive underground cabling work being undertaken across the state. "A total of 8,039 km of underground cabling has been completed, enhancing reliability and reducing transmission losses," the minister said.
