PANAJI, June 25 -- Canacona receives highest rainfall at 97 mm as monsoon intensifies across the state; gusty winds of up to 50 kmph likely in isolated areas.

Goa experienced an intense monsoon spell over the past 24 hours, recording rainfall levels 82 per cent above the normal daily average, according to weather observations.

Among the talukas, Canacona received the highest rainfall at 97 mm, followed by Valpoi and Dharbandora, highlighting the widespread impact of the monsoon across the state.

The increased rainfall has brought much-needed water recharge but has also led to concerns over waterlogging, traffic disruptions and road safety in several areas.
