Goa, Aug. 9 -- Following a heated debate in the Goa Legislative Assembly, the state government has agreed to the Opposition's demand to refer the Goa Public Universities Bill, 2025 to a Select Committee for further scrutiny.
The committee will be chaired by Minister Subhash Shirdokar and is expected to review the provisions of the proposed legislation before it is brought back to the House for consideration.
The decision comes amid concerns raised by Opposition members over certain clauses of the Bill, prompting calls for a more detailed examination to ensure it meets the state's academic and administrative needs.
