Goa, April 16 -- Goa Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has stated that no decision will be taken on the implementation of smart meters without a thorough study, emphasising the need for greater public awareness on the subject.

Speaking on the issue, Dhavalikar said that discussions on smart meters would only take place after proper evaluation and understanding of their impact. "No one in Goa is fully aware of smart meters," he remarked, highlighting the lack of public knowledge on the technology.

He further assured that no policy decision would be implemented without careful examination, indicating a cautious approach by the government on the rollout of smart metering systems in the state.
