Goa, July 5 -- Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes has issued a renewed warning that consumers operating generators, inverters, or renewable energy systems without adhering to mandatory safety norms face criminal prosecution and immediate disconnection of power supply.

In a public notice, the department underscored that prior permission and certified safety measures are compulsory for all forms of power generation connected to the grid. The caution comes after reports of consumers flouting regulations, which authorities say pose serious risks to power department personnel and public safety.
