Goa, May 20 -- The Goa Police is in the process of procuring a second 15-metre fast patrol boat worth Rs.3.4 crore to further strengthen coastal security along the state's 105-kilometre coastline.

According to officials, the new patrol vessel will be deployed for both day and night surveillance operations in shallow coastal waters. The boat will also be used for search and rescue missions and for intercepting high-speed vessels whenever required.

Authorities said the addition of the new patrol craft is aimed at enhancing maritime security and improving the police department's operational capabilities along Goa's coastline.
