Goa, June 15 -- Goa Police have registered six FIRs against landlords-including one from Jaipur-for failing to submit mandatory C-Forms after renting out their properties to foreign nationals, in violation of the Foreigners Act, 1946. The cases, reported between January and May, were filed at Anjuna (2), Mandrem, Mapusa, Verna, and Colva police stations.
As per Goa Police PRO Rahul Gupta (IPS), the landlords failed to report the presence of foreign nationals within the 24-hour timeframe mandated by law. The C-Form is a critical requirement that ensures the traceability and security of foreign visitors. It obligates landlords, hotel operators, and guesthouse owners to promptly inform authorities of any foreign occupants.
