Goa, July 13 -- Goa Medical College (GMC) has received approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) to increase its MBBS intake by 50 seats for the 2026-27 academic year. The approval, granted by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), raises the total number of undergraduate medical seats from 200 to 250. However, the increase comes with conditions, as the NMC has directed GMC to address certain faculty-related deficiencies identified during its assessment. The college has been given 90 days to rectify the shortcomings and submit a compliance report.
