Goa, June 4 -- The Goa government has amended its recruitment rules, making a six-month computer course a mandatory qualification for candidates applying to 115 categories of government jobs. The revised norms will apply to several Group 'C' positions, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and other administrative posts across various departments.

The move is aimed at improving digital literacy within the government workforce and ensuring employees possess the basic computer skills required in today's technology-driven administrative environment. Officials believe that computer proficiency has become essential for handling official records, online services, communication, and data management.
