Goa, Aug. 3 -- RGP MLA Viresh Borkar has raised strong objections to the Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Bill, 2025, during a recent Assembly session, asserting that the proposed legislation disproportionately favors migrants at the expense of native Goans. Borkar argued that the amendment introduces provisions that grant migrants holding as little as 100 square meters of land eligibility for an additional 400 square meters. In contrast, Goans who currently possess more than 400 square meters of land are set to lose their protected ownership rights, marking a significant reversal in long-established land tenure safeguards.
