Goa Judiciary's Dr. Shabnam Shaikh Earns Ph.D. in Law for Research on Matrimonial Disputes
Goa, June 12 -- In a proud moment for the Goa judiciary, Dr. Shabnam Shaikh, who has served as District and Sessions Judge-3 and Additional Sessions Judge in South Goa and is currently serving as Officer on Special Duty at the Kolhapur Circuit Bench of the Bombay High Court, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law.
Dr. Shaikh was conferred the doctoral degree on May 2, 2026, for her research titled "A Critical Study of the Socio-Legal Aspects of Matrimonial Disputes in the State of Goa." The study explores the legal and social dimensions of matrimonial conflicts within the state's unique legal framework.
