India, April 6 -- In the ongoing suo motu public interest litigation (PIL) concerning illegal structures in Goa, the Bombay High Court has come down heavily on village panchayats for failing to submit compliance reports as directed earlier.Goa Travel Guide

Expressing strong displeasure, the High Court noted that several panchayats had not filed the required reports despite clear instructions issued on March 6, 2025. The court termed the lapse a serious dereliction of duty.
