Goa High Court Defers Hearing on PIL Seeking 4% Disability Reservation in Government Jobs to July 8
Goa, July 2 -- The High Court has adjourned to July 8 the hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking enforcement of the mandatory 4% reservation for persons with benchmark disabilities in Goa government jobs.
The petition challenges the Goa Staff Selection Commission's recruitment notification issued on February 13, 2026, for 722 Group C posts, alleging that no vacancies were reserved for eligible candidates with benchmark disabilities, as required under the law.
During an earlier hearing, the High Court had directed the State Government to submit department-wise and cadre-wise data detailing the implementation of the statutory 4% reservation policy across government departments.
